Perspectives on Multiscale Colloid-Based Materials for Biomedical Applications

Published in Langmuir, 2023

Colloid-based materials with tunable biophysical and chemical properties have demonstrated significant potential across a wide range of biomedical applications. The ability to manipulate properties across nano-, micro-, and macrodomains is essential for advancing current technologies and enabling novel applications. We explore various synthetic colloid-based materials and their correlations with biological systems, including the use of self-assembly to construct macroscopic materials suitable for biointerfaces. We highlight emerging opportunities in spatial imaging, localized drug delivery, and colloidal manipulation.
